Gabby Douglas is enjoying the tweets she’s getting from celebs like Serena Williams, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, and more.  As she reads the news about her million dollar sponsorship deals she’s also well aware of the drama folks were talking about regarding her hair on social media. The feisty little champ didn’t hold back regarding the hate.

“Where’s this coming from? Are you kidding me? What’s this about my hair?” Douglas said “I gel it up, put some clips in it and put it in a bun. People shouldn’t be worried about that.”

She says her hairstyle won’t change, either, despite the surprising number of complaints and suggestions. “Might as well get used to it,” Douglas said.

She’ll wear it the same way when she competes in individual events, in both the uneven bars today (Monday) and the beam on Tuesday. She’s wearing it that way because it’s practical and because that’s the way she likes it.

“It’s a little crazy, everybody coming up and saying, ‘Can I have a photo of you?’ or ‘Look, there’s Gabby,’” she said. “It’s hectic, but I love it.”

Douglas has two families, two homes, and is looking forward to two big parties in each town. She will head back to Virginia Beach first with her mom, though she has come to prefer West Des Moines, Iowa, where her coach and adoptive family live.

“I love Iowa,” she said. “I love the open space.”

She says she hasn’t been in touch with her father since she won the medal. “Me and my dad are kind of distant,” she said.

says she intends to continue competing after a post-Olympics gymnastics tour that takes her from San Jose to Brooklyn, from September to November.

“If all goes well, you’ll definitely see more of me,” she said. Let’s hope so!!!!!! Doesn’t sound like she’s worried at all and neither should her mom who recently claimed bankruptcy CLICK to read! Things are looking up for you ladies!!!! (NBC)
